Central Health Care Facility DB2 – Stockton (CDCR) – April 2012 to July 15, 2013 (on schedule) (612M)

Type I-FR construction, I-2/I-3 and mixed occupancies, 1 story buildings, approximately 1.5 million square feet spread over 23 inmate healthcare housing units, 6 support buildings, and 1 inmate worker housing building. This is a design build project.
Came on board after the start of construction in April 2012, to assist GC in assuring compliance with all fire code requirements. Assisted project team in design changes and facilitated approvals of changes with the State Fire Marshal. Assumed responsibility for the functional testing of all fire protection systems for CMAJV and coordinated all fire protection acceptance testing by the SFM with the SFM field staff. SFM had assigned 4 Deputies to facilitate this testing. Coordinated all SFM inspections for Conditional and final occupancy approvals.

New California Veterans Home – Redding (CDVA) – January 2011 to March 2012. (36M)

Type V-1hr construction, mixed occupancy, 1 story, 163.035 square feet.
This project is a Veterans Home which includes 2 skilled nursing wings (I-2), 3 Residential Care for the Elderly wings (I-1) and a center core support services building (mixed use). This was a design build project. Hans assumed responsibility for the SFM as the lead Deputy on January 2012, 75% of site work was completed and framing was about 50% underway. Remained on the project as the lead DSFM almost to completion upon retirement in March 2012.

Condemned Inmate Complex – San Quentin (CDCR) – December 2007 to April 2011 (212M est)

Type I-FR construction, I-3 occupancy, 2 story (2 tiers each) 350,000 square feet.
Conducted all preliminary and final plan reviews for the SFM on this project up to final approval. Coordinated with AOR and consultants throughout the design phase. Project was not funded after receipt of bids due to state budget constraints.

Central Health Services Building 22 – San Quentin (CDCR) – August 2007 to December 2009 (61M est)

Type I–FR construction, I-3 occupancy, 5 stories, 60,000 square feet.
Demolition of condemned historical building and construction of new prison health services building. Conducted all plan reviews and construction acceptance for SFM as the lead DSFM for this design build project for the CDCR Receiver corporation. The project was construction within the secured perimeter of a working prison.

California Medical Facility – 50 Bed Mental Health Crisis Beds (CDCR) – July 2006 to May 2008 (31M)

Type II-FR construction, I-1.1/I-3 occupancy, 1 story, 44,910 square feet.
This is a new 50 bed mental health facility. Provided the lead DSFM role for the SFM and reviewed all construction for fire code requirements and acceptance, including all changes to plans during construction.

California Medical Facility – 64 Bed Mental Health Building (CDCR) – April 2010 to February 2012

Type I-B construction, I-2/I-3 occupancy, 1 story, approximately 58,000 square feet.
This is a new 64 bed mental health facility. Conducted majority of preliminary and final plan reviews. Provided the lead DSFM role for the SFM and reviewed all construction for fire code requirements and acceptance, including all changes to plans during construction.

Lincoln Theater – California Veterans Home Yountville (CDVA) – September 2003 – July 2005 (28M)

Type I-FR construction, A-1 occupancy, 2 story, 43,161 square feet
This was a complete renovation of an abandoned non-compliant performing arts theater, utilizing a public/private partnership for funding. Provided the lead DSFM role for the SFM and reviewed all construction for fire code requirements and acceptance, including all changes to plans during construction.

Member Services Building – California Veterans Home Yountville (CDVA) – Sept. 2007 to August 2010

Type I-FR construction, mixed occupancy, 2 story, 70,000 square feet
This was a complete renovation of an existing building that was extensively damaged from a fire. Conducted all preliminary and final plan reviews and construction acceptance for the SFM as the lead DSFM for this design build project.

Eisenhower Hall – California Veterans Home Yountville (CDVA) – Sept. 2004 to May 2007 (25M)

Type I-FR construction, I-1.1 construction, 1 story, 42,734 square feet.
This was a complete renovation of an abandoned non-compliant performing building. Provided the lead DSFM role for the SFM and reviewed all construction for fire code requirements and acceptance, including all changes to plans during construction.

New Student Housing – California Maritime Academy (CSU) – August 2007 to December 2009 (24M)

Type V-A construction, R-2 occupancy, 3 stories, 30,000 square feet.
This project was the construction of a new student housing dormitory for the facility. Conducted all preliminary and final plan reviews and construction acceptance for the SFM as the lead DSFM for this design build project.

Simulator Building – California Maritime Academy (CSU) – March 2006 – November 2009 (12M)

Type V-N construction, B occupancy, 2 story, 20,551 square feet.
This project was a new building to house classrooms and specialty simulators for teaching students about navigation and piloting of ships for both harbors and ocean going vessels. Provided the lead DSFM role for the SFM and reviewed all construction for fire code requirements and acceptance, including all changes to plans during construction.
